In 2023, ch_studio and Studio Barnes won the design competition to transform the 100-year-old building at 1012 N Main Street, originally constructed as the Fort Worth headquarters of the Ku Klux Klan. Through continuous conversations with the community, the design team has reimagined a place once defined by exclusion and hate as a place of belonging, community, and hope. The design preserves the memory of the building’s past while reshaping its formal presence, giving it a renewed identity and a new presence on Main Street for the future.
