Rather than reproduce familiar motifs or pastiches, Sueño draws from the spatial logic of the hacienda, its continuity between interior and exterior, its reliance on material presence, and its capacity to hold time through use. Core principles transposed within the cosmopolitan setting of Dallas to shape a candid dining experience around openness, tactility, and the invitation to linger.
At the core of the design is a conviction that is both cultural and spatial: the labor sustaining most American kitchens belongs overwhelmingly to Latin workers. Honoring that diligence, by making it visible, became the project's governing principle.
