The Infill Houses explore how density can emerge quietly within the existing fabric of a Dallas neighborhood. Built on two adjacent interior lots south of downtown, the pair of houses occupy residual parcels between established homes—sites typically too constrained for conventional development. Each house measures just 1,353 square-feet and rises three stories, demonstrating how compact, vertical living can enrich the urban condition without altering its scale.
As a prototype, the Infill Houses present density as a deliberate, architectural response to the housing crisis in North Texas. The shared access drive functions as more than infrastructure — it becomes a collective threshold and social space between the mirrored homes. Together, the pair demonstrates how modest infill projects can cultivate connection, efficiency, and livability within the overlooked gaps of the city.
